As part of #ProjectHappy we spoke to LGBTQ+ people who have been affected by mental health issues. Justin is the Digital and Social Engagement Officer at LGBT HERO, and is passionate about improving mental health in the LGBTQ+ community. Here he talks about the depression, anxiety, and suicidality that lead him to work for LGBT HERO, and the importance of talking to others.

In the event of an emergency, if you don't feel safe, or think that your life may be in danger, then dial 999 and as for an ambulance.

Samaritans' helpline is open 24/7, 365 days a year. You can always talk to someone who will be non-judgmental and listen to you. You don't have to be suicidal to call.

Switchboard is a helpline for LGBTQ+ people where you can talk about whatever's bothering you. You can speak to someone who's LGBTQ+ like you, and be directed toward support.
