As part of our long-term plan to support transgender people, OutLife is producing a suite of resources for the trans community. We want this work to be lead by the trans people, for trans people, and as such we're looking to recruit a group of enthused volunteers to lead the way.

As part of the TransAction group, you will provide vital input into our upcoming projects, and potentially become involved in every stage from ideas generation, to final delivery. This could include creating online written resources, or brainstorming our latest public-facing campaign.

Our parent charity, HERO, recently used this exact approach with its Me. Him. Us. HIV prevention campaign, which was produced by black men, for black men. The concept, written copy and design were all produced by BME men.

We want the same level of involvement from TransAction. Potential activities you could become involved in include:

  • Identifying needs within the trans community
  • Developing ideas for support resources and services
  • Helping deliver ideas through writing, visual design, or whatever skill you can provide
  • Becoming a trans ambassador at OutLife events

This all sounds like a huge commitment, but we’re very aware that volunteers generously give up their free time to contribute, so demands on your schedule would be kept to a minimum.

Preferably we’re looking for London-based trans people, but if you’re further afield and still want to contribute, that’s absolutely fine.

If this sounds like it’s for you, then email [email protected] with the subject "TransAction" and include your full name, gender identity, and a little information about yourself.
